While working as professional actors and theatre educators for a combined twenty years, Jeremy K. Jackson and Dominic Catrambone came together in late 2006 with an idea:  To create an arts education company that celebrated originality by prioritizing student involvement in every phase of the creative process.  They believed that by building something from the imagination up, students, no matter their age, experience or personal objective, would gain valuable life skills and evolve as individuals.

Their first program came in the form of a summer acting camp.  During this three-week program, students (ages 6 to 15) created and staged their own original musical.   Through the development of this show and the clear evolution of its creators/participants, a process was born:  One that gave primacy to possibility and imagination over that which came before.

Since that first camp, DiscoveryOnstage has developed unique after school programming for local school districts; created curriculum based, year-round drama elective programs for area high schools; produced annual summer acting camps on behalf of communities and institutions; provided Shakespeare and sword-combat workshops to area elementary and middle schools; and produced various charity performances involving students of all ages for organizations including the American Cancer Society.  DiscoveryOnstage has also produced community workshops on an annual basis including The Young Actor’s Exploration Series, The Young Actor’s Conservatory and The Young Actor’s Filmmaking Laboratory.  Additionally, DiscoveryOnstage has developed an educational program for adults, providing professional consultation and creative leadership/team-building workshops benefiting individuals and companies nationwide.
